Literary Techniques
1st- The first literary technique that the author uses is imagery. Every time Emma and Eadric would enter a new part of the forest, the first thing that the author would do is describe the new setting. If there was a new animal that they encountered, then she made sure that i knew exactly what it looked like. If they ever make a movie out of this book, I'm pretty sure I would know exactly what everything would look like because of the detailed descriptions E.D Baker put into her novel.
2nd- The second literary technique that the author uses is Internal Conflict. When the two frogs get captured by an evil witch, Emma has a chance to escape from the cage that is closing them in. When she recites a spell to open all locks in the cottage, every animal goes flying free. Eadric is dead asleep from a spell that the witch put on him. Emma has to decide whether or not she should try to get him out or go on without him. After a couple valuble minutes of deciding, Emma comes to a decision. She figures out a spell to wake him up and they make it out of the prison they are trapped in.
3rd- The third literary technique that the author uses in The Frog Princess is
Man V.S Nature. When Emma and Eadric are on their journey through the enchanted forest, they encounter some very crazy things in the wilderness. A nymph decides not to let them pass because she said that the territory is hers. This is Man V.S Nature because the nymph is part of the nature that stands in their way. The solution to the conflict is that the nymph lets them pass because Eadric gave her so many compliments and nymphs can't resist a romantic.
